Steven Gerrard New Rangers Manager

Rangers to officially announce appointment later on Friday.

Steven Gerrard to become the next Rangers boss, following his agreement to be signed in this Friday according to Sky Sources.

In the latest news on the Ibrox new boss it is said the Liverpool’s legend will be having a 3 year deal as he had agreed to manage the rangers.

Steven Gerrard has agreed a three-year deal in principle to become Rangers manager, according to Sky sources.

Furthermore the 37 year old is also to arrive in Glasgow come Friday to have his official contract signing to the team as the lead manager while he would be assisted by Gary McAllister at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard, following his return from Rome in support of his old team; Liverpool against Roma in the Champions League sprout, still in the spirit of winning just has his former team mates qualify for the Champions League finals also shook hands on the deal with the Rangers hierarchy. Although Steven had to be convinced into taking the job of manager has both Ranger director of football Mark Allen and the head of scouting Andy Scoulding did the talk to convince Gerrard as they both had connections that goes way back with the former Liverpool’s captain from their time in England.

It is understood that Steven Gerrard asked for an assurance over the transfer of budget before he agreed to taking on the role as Rangers new manager.

With all things looking bright Phil Thompson, Liverpool’s former assistant manager is of the view that taking the job is rather ‘very risky’.

Before now Steven Gerrard has been the coach at the Liverpool Academy since April last year but will now be taken over from Graeme Murty who recently got sacked earlier this week regardless his appointment deal to manage Rangers till the end of the season. Apparently Murty’s results produced from management of the Rangers wasn’t all in acceptable terms with the board. Ranger’s loss at the Celtic forced the hands of Rangers board to put in new manager.

Rangers are presently 3rd on the Scottish Premiership table and 13 points behind Celtic, as Celtic just bagged the title 7th time in a role and did so this season by defeating their Glasgow rivals at the weekend.
