After the return to Lennox town, Brendan Rodgers got in with the media and made sure to emphasis on the training during the winter season, saying it’s would ensure the Celts complete the rest of the season strong.

“For us having so many games in the first part of the season, the break came at a good time,” said the Hoops manager. “It was a long first part to the season so it was really good.

“It gave the players a chance to recover and rest but we had to work as well. The players trained very hard and it was a good chance to bond further as a team. Overall, it was a great trip and the facilities were very good, so it sets us up very well for the second half of the season.”

Despite the present state of the team on the premiership table, Brendan Rodgers assured that the team training as been as characterized by very precise, conscientious attention to details as ever.

“I’m sure Brechin will provide a tough test for us,” he said. “When I watched the team I could see they’re certainly playing for their manager. They’ve got through to this stage of the competition so I’m sure they’ll look to make it really difficult for us. It’s up to us to have that professionalism and focus and get through the tie.

“They’re always tricky games. With the cup games, you always like to have a home game. It’s nice to have a home game and be back at playing at Celtic Park again.

“Every game we’ve played we’ve always tried to give it our all. That’s before the game even starts and it’s in our preparation. We’ve never been lazy on any opponent, no matter who they are, and Brechin will get the same respect as any other team. “
